Song Review: 7th Heaven REDUX

Overall Impression: With its perfectly matched R&B and jazz-inspired styling, "7th Heaven REDUX" is a fantastically hip-sounding tune that flaunts its elements of funk, jazz, soul, and r&b with both great confidence and a tremendous amount of flair. Bursting at the seams with virtuosic instrumental work and led by a sublime lead vocal performance that is brimming with personality, this is a track you simply can't help but be pulled in by, and 7th Heaven Music has done an absolutely fantastic job of melding their various musical inspirations together whilst injecting their own distinctive creative spark into the mix to create a truly superb piece of music that is endlessly listenable. This is an incredibly accomplished track and the level of detail that has gone into its making is clear to see, or should we say, hear. The writing is phenomenal as are the performances, and all this is finely packaged in an excellent recording that captures and presents all these elements in as respectful a way as possible.

Strongest Point(s): The interplay between the instruments is quite simply fantastic, the way various melodic and rhythmic ideas are bounced off one another makes for a fascinating listening experience. Call and response clearly play an integral role in this particular track and it helps inject the song with a feeling of unpredictability and spontaneity, helping to keep listeners firmly on their toes. Take the way in which the vocals, lead guitar, and wildly expressive keys engage in a "solo-off" in the latter half of the track, particularly at 2:19 where the vocals mimic the lead guitar melody that occurs just prior and at 2:39 where they both join together to express one of the song's many catchy melodies in unison. The sheer level of musicianship on display is truly inspiring and is a pleasure to experience. Rhythmically, harmonically, and melodically, there is a certain sophistication to the writing that begs for repeated listening in order to really pick up on the subtle details that are engraved into the music throughout, and because of the tracks charming nature, repeated listening is a breeze.

Target Audience Appeal: This is definitely a tune for jazz-pop lovers, but there is a brilliant amount of genre diversity throughout that I'm sure a broad range of varied music lovers will find something to enjoy here.
